Whitney Frazier completed her Masters of Art in Community Arts program at the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2007. As a part of her graduate work, she fulfilled a yearlong residency with the ChildFirst Authority, an organization that provides after-school programs forBaltimore City Public Schools. She currently works as the Community Arts Coordinator with Child First, directing an arts program called ArtCore. Art Core is a team of professional artists and youth leaders co-teaching in Child First after school programs.


Whether she is creating murals, videos, performances or paintings,Whitney believes that through a collaborative process art has theability to create social change. Her recent paintings reflect the workthat she does with community organizers to increase healthy foodchoices and quality of life for students in Baltimore City Schools. In2009- 2010, Whitney collaborated with local artist, Crystal Dunn, tofacilitate 3 community murals in N.E. Baltimore (Hamilton) bringing together diverse groups of residents to “re-create” our communityspaces. She uses video and performance as a tool for capturing thestories of youth leaders that are involved in social justice and artsafter school programs.
